You are not going to do a perfect job of homeschooling. You have both strengths and weaknesses. Your children are not going to turn out perfect. They have their strengths and weaknesses too. But, together, you can do it…with God’s help. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” (Prov. 3:5-6.)

My husband, Michael and I have seen God enable and bless our feeble efforts through the years. I am not naturally an organized person, but God helped me learn to be better organized. I am not an academic, but God provided good learning curriculum, so our children could learn. God helped us manage on one income, and gave us contentment with a simple lifestyle. God helped us find other families to share the journey with. God helped us find materials that were honouring to Him and that worked for each of our children. God helped us address learning disabilities. Most important, God was with us, working in us, giving our family hope, meaning, joy, and thankfulness in the midst of our daily homeschool life.

Remember why you have chosen to homeschool. Morals, character, and faith are more caught than taught. Having your kids at home gives you the time to model and teach the most important lessons in life.

“Be strong and of good courage for the Lord your God is with you.” Joshua 1:9 God will bless your effort to train up your children in His ways, even though you don’t do a perfect job.

I am hoping to continue supporting homeschooling families as a mentor and, of course, being involved where I live to help families around me.

Watching the political arena, there are many issues that directly affect the family and how we raise and educate our children.  ARPA does an excellent job of bringing wisdom and clarity to the issues, and directing families in ways they can help make a difference ie writing letters,  speaking to our MP’s, etc. If we don’t speak up now, one day we will not have the freedom to do so, and the freedom to educate our children as we choose.  Here’s the link arpacanada.ca

May God bless each family as you continue to raise up the next generation to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ,
